Charlie Dizon on ‘Viral Scandal’ role: Opened my mind to social issues:

Playing Rica Sicat who got herself embroiled in a sex scandal in “Viral Scandal” has made Charlie Dizon learn hard life lessons and undergo a major transformation.

“I became stronger, mas naging open ‘yung mind ko sa mga nangyari sa paligid, sa social issues. “Masasabi ko na proud na proud ako na nagawa ko itong ‘Viral Scandal’ and naging part ako ng show na ‘to at nakasama ko lahat ng kasama ko dito,” she said during the online press conference for the show last week, May 3.

(I became stronger, my mind became more open to what is happening around me, in social issues. I can say that I am so proud to have done “Viral Scandal” and be part of the show, and to have shared the company of those I worked with in the show.)

The show afforded Dizon the chance to do “firsts” in her career, making it all the more “meaningful and memorable.”

Tulad nung sinabi ko du’n sa ‘Fan Girl,’ ang dami kong ginawa du’n na first time kong ginawa and also dito sa ‘Viral Scandal,’ ang dami kong natutunan din pati sa sarili ko. Ang dami kong na-experience na nakaka-challenge and masaya ako na sila ‘yung mga nakasama ko during those times kasi sobrang giving lahat and sobrang passionate ng lahat, ”she said.

(Like what I said for my film “Fan Girl,” I did so many things here for the first time, and here in “Viral Scandal,” I learned so many things about myself. I experienced many challenges and I am happy that I was with: [my costars] during those times because everyone was so giving and passionate.)

“Viral Scandal” also stars Joshua Garcia, Jameson Blake, Dimples Romana, Maxene Magalona, Kaila Estrada, Markus Patterson, Ria Atayde and Jake Cuenca. It will air its finale this Friday, May 13. JB:
